Brothers and Sisters,
The Bible often speaks of "darkness." Sometimes it refers to the literal absence of light or to an attempt to conceal from others or from God. The word is also used as a metaphor for the spiritual condition of our soul, the context of 1 Jn 1:6, "If we say that we have fellowship with Him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth".
God longs for His children to walk in His love and light. His will (Mt. 5 & 6) is that we all know and manifest in our lives, the light of His love. When Jesus spoke to the people, He said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." Jn 8:11-13. To walk in sin, any kind of habitual sin separates us from God. We are called by God to come out of the darkness and to be with Him. "Come out from them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you." 2 Cor. 6:17 Is. 52:11.
Pray for those who do not know the light of God's love. "This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed" Jn 3:19-20
"But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin." 1 John 1:7
